Live Jazz in Tokyo: Schedule and Venues for My Upcoming Performances
Hello everyone!
This is our monthly post bringing you jazz live performance updates for the upcoming month, published on the 15th of each month.
In May, it already feels like summer in Ishigaki Island (my home island), but in Tokyo, there are still chilly nights and even some cold, rainy days.
Even after all these years, I still haven’t gotten used to it — but at the same time, I feel grateful to be living in Tokyo, a city blessed with such beautiful seasons!
June is packed with exciting live shows to look forward to!
Wednesday, June 18th at JAZZ BAR FILL IN in Shinjuku, Tokyo
A vocal jazz special live show will be held next month at FILL IN, a jazz bar located near Akebonobashi station on the Shinjuku Line that has been running for more than 20 years, offering three sets full of the charms of vocal jazz!
For our June live show, I’ll be performing jazz standards that are perfect for a rainy night.
I used to dislike rainy days, but after I started strolling through the city while listening to rain-themed music, I’ve come to enjoy them.
Now, I even try to make the most of rainy days by carrying a stylish umbrella and finding little ways to lift my mood.
At JAZZ BAR FILL IN, you can enjoy a cozy jazz night accompanied by beer, cocktails, and their famous slow-simmered curry rice—available in just four servings per day!! —all at a very reasonable price.

On June 24th, I’ll be making my debut performance at Ueno Aries!
The event is presented by the wonderful オクリー (Oakley-san), a wonderful world-class artist, and I’m truly looking forward to singing alongside such incredible musicians.

Sunday, June 29th at JESSE JAMES in Tachikawa, Tokyo
I’ve had the pleasure of performing in guitar-vocal duos and solo guitar-and-voice sets several times in past live shows, and I’ve been fortunate to receive warm feedback from audiences each time.
Now, thanks to a wonderful connection with the long-standing jazz club Jesse James Tachikawa and the talented guitarist Keisuke Yaba, I’m excited to announce my very first full duo live performance with him!
Since the show is at the end of June—and in response to some lovely requests from the audience—we’ll be playing summery bossa nova tunes and pop songs from the ‘70s, both Japanese and American.
It promises to be a unique and fresh experience, unlike any of my previous shows.
The venue also offers delicious food and drinks, so if you’re free, I’d love for you to join us for a special evening of music.
